MS Dhoni-led CSK to their 5th IPL trophy in the 2023 season in front of a massive crowd of over 1 lakh at the gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in the year 2020 during the Covid Era and his international outing for India was the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final that India lost against New Zealand at Manchester.
Since then Indian fans have only seen Dhoni play in the IPL and every IPL season massive speculations do rounds about whether this could be Dhoni’s last IPL and when he won last year's IPL’s final in a last-ball finish encounter to clinch CSK’s 5th IPL trophy, there was a huge that Dhoni might announce his retirement from the IPL too.
But no such announcement was made by the former Indian captain which gave his die-hard fans some respite and hope that they could see the legend in the field once again. Dhoni in a recent interview said that he may play one more season of the IPL if his knees are in good shape Dhoni had some issues with his knees during the last IPL and he underwent a successful left knee surgery in Mumbai some time ago which delighted Dhoni’s fan as their hopes of seeing him once again are stronger than ever.
But a recent video of MS Dhoni is doing rounds on the Internet that has given his fans a scare as he can be seen hopping in the video while stepping down from stairs. His fans are hoping that it’s only a precautionary measure as Dhoni had recently had surgery on his left knee and he might be protecting it from extra strain.
Apart from Dhoni fans, millions of Cricket fans across India are hoping that his knees are fully recovered by the time the IPL commences and they can see their favourite player in yellow for at least one more time and go on to win the sixth IPL title for Chennai Super Kings.
The fans expressed their emotions on “X” formerly Twitter. Some of the reactions of the fans are:
Wishing Dhoni Sir a swift recovery! 🙏🏼 Can't imagine IPL without him. 🏏
