People are coming down hard on Ravindra Jadeja for using the Team India Jersey on the Bharatiya Janata Party poster. Jadeja’s wife is taking part in the Gujarat Assembly elections from North Jamnagar on a BJP ticket. The Indian all-rounder is campaigning on his wife Rivaba Jadeja’s behalf.

He has not played competitive cricket for the Indian side ever since he picked up a knee injury and later, after getting the knee operated, Jadeja was expected to make a return and wear the India colours again for the tour of Bangladesh. But his comeback is likely to be delayed for some more time.

Fans have lambasted Jadeja for misuse of the Indian Jersey and feels that strict action must be taken against him. The all-rounder has been part of the Indian team for a long time. He is famous for his lower-order batting and for bowling his left-arm spin exploits. Unfortunately, Jadeja missed the 20-20 World Cup in Australia due to injury.

Jadeja was made the captain of the Chennai franchise in 2022. But he found out that it was always tough for him to play under the shadow of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Halfway through the season, Jadeja relinquished the captaincy and handed it back to Dhoni.

Jadeja did not have a good Indian T20 League with the bat and ball either and got into a feud with the Chennai management. The all-rounder also threatened to end his association with Chennai. Things cooled down and were sorted between player and franchise after Dhoni’s intervention.

The all-rounder scored just 146 runs at an average of 19.33 with the bat and picked up five wickets in the ten matches for Chennai last year. He also missed some games in the 2022 season due to injury.
