Rajasthan Royals suffered a humiliating nine-wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans on Friday, May 5, and their youngster Riyan Parag is once again in the spotlight for his terrible performance. Parag came out to bat as an impact player in the first innings when Royals needed someone to step up as their top-order had crumbled. The 21-year-old got a chance to prove his mettle, but his poor form continued and he managed to score just four runs off six balls.
Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Parag, in a video shared on his Twitter handle, said his inner conscience tells him that he would hit four sixes in an over in the 16th edition of the cash-rich tournament. However, things did not go well for the Assam player, who has only scored 58 runs at a strike rate of 107.40 this season. His dismal performance also forced the management to drop him from the playing XI.
Meanwhile, after the encounter against GT on Friday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Parag turned to Twitter to post a cryptic tweet stating that the good times and the bad times eventually pass at one point. "Waqt acha ho ya bura Guzar he jata hai!", the all-rounder wrote.
Waqt acha ho ya bura Guzar he jata hai!

A dominant win for GT against RR
The defending champions thrashed last year's runners-up by nine wickets to lead the IPL 2023 points table with seven wins. Batting first, Royals got off to a poor start as they lost Jos Buttler in the second over for eight runs. Yashaswi Jaiswal and captain Sanju Samson tried to form a decent partnership, but the former's run-out in the sixth over led to a disastrous collapse.
Samson batted aggressively but was forced to return after scoring the highest individual score for the hosts - 30 runs off 20 balls. The GT bowlers dominated from start to finish and it was Rashid Khan, who did the brunt of the damage, taking three wickets for just 14 runs in four overs. A miserable batting performance by the hosts resulted in them being restricted to a total of 118-10.
In reply, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha gave GT an explosive start, scoring 71 runs before their partnership was broken in the 10th over. After Saha's dismissal, skipper Hardik Pandya entered the arena and smoked Adam Zampa for three sixes and a four to finish things off quickly. The visitors chase down the 119 target with more than three overs remaining and nine wickets in hand.
Here's how fans reacted to Riyan Parag's tweet:
Yes, Time doesn't wait for anyone. That's why You should think about other careers apart from cricket.

The great @msdhoni once said, cricket is close to life. One day you’ll be on the top. Next day you may fall down badly. But one thing is constant! Keep moving and hope backing your strengths and hard work.
