The cricket world is gearing up to witness a furious clash between two of the greatest arch-rivals in sports history - India and Pakistan. With the 2023 ODI World Cup fast approaching, all eyes are on the IND vs PAK blockbuster clash on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has stated that his focus is on the entire tournament, not just the match against India.

At a press conference on Thursday, Babar said that there are eight other teams playing in the World Cup and that Pakistan aims to win against all of them. "We are going to play World Cup and not just going to play against India only. There are eight other teams, and it's not only India, and only if we beat them, then we will make it to the final," the right-handed batter said.

"We are not focused on only one team. We are focused on all other teams in the tournament. Our plan is that we have to play well against all of them and win against them," he added.

The current world number one ODI batter also said that the team is ready to take up the challenge of playing in different conditions. "In our thought, wherever the cricket will be played, wherever the matches are, we are going to play there. Because as professionals that is what we do, you have to be ready for everything."

"You prepare yourself for different conditions and in every environment, and that is what we call a challenge, and you take it to live up to it. Me, as a player and captain, I aspire to score runs in every country, dominate and win Pakistan games," the 28-year-old added.

Due to security concerns, neighbouring countries have stopped playing in bilateral series and are now only competing in major international and Asian events. Pakistan may have beaten India in the T20 World Cup, but they have never defeated the Men in Blue in the 50-over format. Babar Azam and Co. will aim to create history while Rohit Sharma's team will look to continue their 8-win streak over them.
