As the Indian team lost the first T20I against West Indies under Hardik Pandya's leadership, he has been getting heavy criticism from everywhere. One of the Pakistani journalists on Twitter tried to mock Pandya’s statement about placing two teams at the same time and winning any tournament in the world, but cricket fans trolled the Pakistani journalist for his tweet on Pandya.

Interestingly, in 2021, the star India all-rounder Pandya made headlines when he claimed high regard for the Indian cricket team's abilities. Whereas Pandya is known for his fearless attitude both on and off the field. The current skipper of the Indian side expressed his idea for the mass pool of talent in the country. Hardik’s idea was not over the top, as in 2021, the Indian side sent two separate teams for different tournaments.

Hardik Pandya led India in ODI

Speaking of the West Indies tour, Pandya led the Indian side in the last two ODIs in the absence of Rohit Sharma. Team India, after losing the second ODI, won the decider to lift the trophy 2-1 against the Caribbean side. Although in the first T20I, West Indies won against the Asian Giants by four runs, the visitors were unable to chase down the target of 150 runs. The Indian side managed 145/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

In the match, two debutants were in the playing XI of Team India, Mukesh Kumar and Tilak Varma. Varma shined with the bat as he scored 39 runs in 22 balls with three sixes, while Mukesh did not pick up any wickets and went for 24 runs in his three overs. India under Hardik Pandya's leadership are surely looking to target next year's T20 World Cup, as they are targeting youngsters in the 20-over clash fixtures without senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Talking about the first T20I, led by dynamic all-rounder Hardik Pandya, India will look to give opportunities to young guys such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, and Mukesh Kumar in these five matches. Now for the second match of the five games 20-over series, India will take on West Indies on August 6 at Providence Stadium, Guyana.
