The clash of the titans is back as India and Pakistan prepare themselves for another mouth-watering encounter in the 20-20 World Cup. The rivalry between the two countries has grown spicier as the last three matches turned out to be thrilling affairs. Both the sides have a star-studded line up having numerous impactful players in the squad.
These players will go against each other in search of another victory against their toughest opposition. The match will treat the crowd with several mini-battles between players from both teams that will decide who comes out on top in the supreme clash. On that note, let’s take a look at the top three player battles in the upcoming India-Pakistan clash:
1 Rohit Sharma vs Shaheen Afridi
India’s chief tormenter in the last year’s world cup will be back once again on Sunday to take them down once again. In the last year’s World Cup, Afridi picked the wickets of India’s star-studded top three namely Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Rohit in particular has struggled a lot against the left-arm seamers. The star opener will have to bring his A-game to the table to counter the searing pace of Afridi. Keeping in mind, India’s new approach in T20 cricket, it will be interesting to see if Rohit goes all guns blazing against Afridi.
2 Virat Kohli vs Naseem Shah
Naseem Shah had an impressive debut in the Asia Cup as he bowled his heart out against India despite suffering from cramps. Naseem will once again pose a serious threat to India bowling in tandem with Shaheen Afridi.
Kohli on the other hand has just returned to form after having a quiet couple of years with the bat. The star batter will be raring to go in the upcoming World Cup having found his mojo back. The former Indian captain will have his eyes set on the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award once again after having won the coveted award twice.
3 Babar Azam vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Babar Azam will once again prove to be a thorn in India’s flesh in the mega clash on Sunday. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be given the responsibility to send the Pakistan captain back to the pavilion as early as possible.
Bhuvneshwar managed to dismiss Babar in the group stage match of the Asia Cup last month. And he would give his everything to emulate his feat on 23rd October.
