Virat Kohli has been an icon in Indian Cricket. The talismanic batter has done wonders for India with his batting across formats. Kohli has been a prime example across different walks of life when it comes to temperament, grit, tenacity, and hard work.

The former Indian captain had a wonderful stint when he was leading the Indian team. He took the Men in Blue to great heights as he won 40 out of 68 Test matches. He has been the captain for 24 Test series and won 18 of them. He has not lost a single home series when he was captain of India.

Here's a look at three special qualities of Virat Kohli:

1. Never say-die attitude

Virat Kohli's never-say-die attitude is his one of the most special qualities. He has had this Australian type personality of never giving up till the end. He has won games for India from impossible situations many times and has come out on top.

He wears his heart on his sleeve and expects the same from his teammates. He always gives his hundred per cent on the field for the country. Irrespective of the situation, he always wants to dominate and come out on top.

2. Introducing a fitness revolution

When Virat Kohli became the full-time Test captain in 2014, he showed the world how one can push the boundaries and have greater stamina and endurance which will help the players keep up the intensity in a demanding format such as Test Cricket. This gave a great lift to the Indian Team.

They started winning more Test matches abroad. Strict regimes were followed by the fast bowlers which helped them clock greater speeds and the Indian pace attack became a lot more potent and tough to beat abroad. It had a positive overall effect on the Men in Blue.

3. Having a good camaraderie

He had wonderful relationships with his teammates and forged wonderful bonds that helped the Indian side perform well under pressure and also this helped him get the best out of his players.

He also took the blame when the situation was tough and did not pass the buck onto anybody else. As a captain, he shielded his players at times of crisis and was prepared to take a bullet for his team members. He also gave his players the space to learn and grow which also defined him as a captain.
