The highly-anticipated FIFA World Cup 2022 will begin from November 20. A total of 32 teams will be participating in the World Cup, that is slated to take place in Qatar. All roads will lead to Qatar as fans from all over the globe will fly into the Middle Eastern country and will be rooting for their favourite football stars.

The total count of fans is expected to be around one million. In what will be a first, a world cup will be held in a Middle Eastern country which means that certain rules and regulations are to be followed. When it comes to Human rights Organizations, they have raised alarms, concerning the rights of the fans who will be in the country to witness the football extravaganza.

From the side of the officials in Qatar, they have come out with a long list of acts which are not to be practiced in the tournament. They have also highlighted the most vulnerable category which happens to be LGBTQ+ people and women. Here is the list relating to the same.

There will be peacekeepers present at the FIFA World Cup

The Foreign office in Qatar has issued an advisory to the fans and given an important memo that the local laws, customs and traditions of the land have to be given utmost importance. The fans should not show public display of affection, should be on good behavior at all times, and they should dress appropriately.

The fans have been asked to strictly refrain from carrying any religious books, pork products, sex toys and pornography. Also, since any import of alcohol is strictly banned in Qatar, it would be in the best interest of fans if they do acquire any duty-free booze. Any person found indulging in these activities will have their belongings confiscated and will have to face imprisonment.

The other regulations are that a sin tax will be levied on alcohol which would make the price for a pint of beer, if taken at the fan zone, cost 13 pounds. On another note, Alcohol will cost 80 pounds if taken from a hotel on an estimate come the semi-finals and final. The drinks can only be consumed at particular zones which are marked and, if caught swearing, vaping or taking drinks at the non-designated zones, will lead to arrest.

If drugs are found when the luggage gets scanned, then a prescription is mandatory with the drug, else it can be confiscated. On another note, peacekeepers will be in operation to help football fans avoid arrest at the World Cup. Designated officials from the UK will be present and they will keep the fans aware and intervene in case any laws are breached.
