India have found a gem in Arshdeep Singh, although the left-armer has not been able to replicate his best in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand, with the final contest to be played on February 1, Wednesday. With Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s era slowly coming to an end when it comes to the shortest format of the game, the rise of Shubman Gill, Arshdeep, Ishan Kishan, Umran Malik and Shivam Mavi is becoming the talk of the town. 

That being said, the former Indian spinner and team India coach Anil Kumble opened up on the aspiring cricketers, claiming that the left-armer and the southpaw might go on to become the next superstars for the team in the future. The Men in Blue are witnessing the rise of youngsters and one could understand that they are taking the centre stage sooner than expected. 

“Having worked closely with someone like Arshdeep, it’s wonderful to see him grow into what he’s done for India. I would look at Arshdeep as the next superstar bowler coming through. From a batting perspective, Ishan Kishan is someone who’s been wonderful in the opportunities he’s got. He got a double hundred and he’s someone who I think will be a superstar,” Kumble was quoted as saying to Jio Cinema. 

Parthiv Patel joins Anil Kumble to name future superstars

Former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel opened up on the future superstars and to his part, the southpaw named upcoming allrounder Tilak Varma. The young Indian allrounder is being looked at as the potential replacement for Hardik Pandya in future and this comes on the back of his stupendous outing with the Mumbai franchise in 2022. 

“He's (Umran) quick and bowling well and already played for India. He’s someone who can be a superstar. Batting-wise, having seen Tilak Varma in the last couple of years, I had the opportunity to scout him and see the cricketer he has become. We’ve seen his batting ability, and he has the ability to go on and lead the side. He’s someone who comes across as a leader,” Patel was quoted as saying on Jio Cinema.
