The former Indian wicket-keeper opined that the star-India batter Virat Kohli might open for India. He said in the Cricbuzz’s show ‘Talking Point’ that the former skipper might open in the Asia Cup 2022. He said that he has no doubts about Virat’s abilities.
“There is no doubt about Virat Kohli’s abilities. It is just about the form, it is just about which position you want him to play,” Patel said. “That is why Asia Cup becomes very crucial. Not for him, just for India’s point of view also whether they get the right combination or not,” he added further.
He weighed in on the fact that the batter’s best performances have come when he opened for the Bangalore franchise. Patel added that the batter played well in the Indian T20 League when he opened.
