The third match of The Hundred 2022 saw Northern Superchargers winning over Manchester Originals. After winning the toss and electing to field first, the Superchargers tried to contain Manchester Originals to less than 120. However, Manchester Originals scored 16 runs off the first ten balls. And then a steady partnership between Jos Buttler and Wayne Madsen ensured the Originals crossed the hundred-run mark.

Jos Buttler perished for a well-made 59 and the Originals managed to score 161 for the loss of 4 wickets in hundred balls. The Superchargers came all out against the Originals as Lyth scored fifty. Harry Brook's unbeaten 31 powered the Superchargers towards the target with 6 balls to spare. In the fourth match of The Hundred 2022, Trent Rockets will take on Birmingham Phoenix.

Team News:

Trent Rockets:

Trent Rockets have announced the availability of all players right before the tournament. They are coming in with full bench strength and enough back-ups to start their campaign in style. All the big guns like Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Colin Munro and Daniel Sams will go all out against the Phoenix. In the bowling department, skipper Gregory, Patel, de Lange and Rashid Khan will look to make an impression.

Players to watch out for:

1) Lewis Gregory:

The player from Somerset will do all he can to contribute with the bat and the ball as well. Also wearing the captaincy hat, he will look to emulate his aggressive intent once again. Having played T20Is last year, Gregory will use that experience to shine here.

2) Alex Hales:

Alex Hales has been in decent form of late. He scored a well-made 55 off just 23 balls against Derbyshire in June. And he would try to replicate the innings in his first outing for the Rockets this year. The 33-year-old batter will be vital for a quickfire start up front.

3) Daniel Sams:

Daniel Sams recently played a match for Essex against Glamorgan where he picked three scalps and added twenty crucial runs. This is where Sams can shine as he can contribute fifteen odd runs with the bat and pick two to three scalps in no time.

Probable Playing XI: Colin Munro, Alex Hales, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Dawid Malan, Joe Root, Samit Patel, Rashid Khan, Lewis Gregory, Steven Mullaney, Daniel Sams, Luke Wood

Birmingham Phoenix:

Birmingham Phoenix depends heavily on Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone to power up the batting. Although there are classic domestic players, these two will be the 'X-Factor' for the Phoenix. In the bowling department, Imran Tahir and Adam Milne will be vital.

Players to watch out for:

1) Moeen Ali:

Moeen Ali scored a fiery fifty-two off just eighteen balls in the first T20I against South Africa. He also picked a wicket in that match. All set to lead the side, Ali's touch can be an advantage for England for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup 2022.

2) Liam Livingstone:

Another dangerous allrounder in the squad who can go berserk in no time. Although he did not flourish against South Africa, Livingstone will go all out from the first match to make up for it. Watch out for him, he'll come up with some aggressive performances this season.

3) Adam Milne:

A very crucial bowler for the Phoenix, Adam Milne has to come up with brilliant spells. He performed well for the Chennai team in the Indian T20 league. Milne has been out of the domestic arena for a while. But he'll go blazing right from ball one.

Probable Playing XI: Matthew Wade, Will Smeed, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Benjamin, Dan Mousley, Graeme van Buuren, Benny Howell, Adam Milne, Tom Helm, Imran Tahir

Pitch and Weather:

Dry weather is expected in and around the city. The average first innings score at this ground is 140. And 75% of the time, teams bowling first have won the match in the past two years. The teams winning the toss can opt to bowl first and chase it down later on.
