The Hundred 2022: Match 2 Oval Invincibles v London Spirit:

Team News:

Oval Invincibles:

Oval Invincibles will miss the services of Saqib Mahmood this year. Pat Brown has been called up to make up for it. Tom Curran has recovered from his injury and will look to get back on his knees and pick some scalps to get back to form. Sam Billings will be a key player for the Invincibles, while the team will also be banking on the services of Rilee Rossouw.

Players to watch out for:

1) Reece Topley:

Reece Topley has been in good form of late and his pace will come in handy for the Invincibles. He was a star for England in the series against India. He picked up a six-for in the second ODI against the Men in Blue. Oval Invincibles might make good use of his services.

2) Sam Billings:

Sam Billings will lead the side this year. The captaincy role might bring the best out of him as a batter. He will be one of the players to watch out for.

3) Jason Roy:

Jason Roy can make use this tournament to get his fine touch back in the white-ball cricket. He will have the responsibility of providing a great start to the innings.

Probable Playing XI: Jason Roy, Will Jacks, Rilee Rossouw, Sam Billings, Sunil Narine, Sam Curran, Jack Leaning, Mohammad Hasnain, Tom Curran, Danny Briggs, Reece Topley

London Spirit:

London Spirit will miss the services of Kieron Pollard unless the allrounder is deemed fit. Toby-Roland Jones is expected to make a huge impact and will be vital for Spirit’s success. Nathan Ellis is also in the squad as a back-up for Toby-Roland Jones. Mark Wood will be missing out for London Spirit due to injury.

Players to watch out for:

1) Eoin Morgan:

Eoin Morgan can play a vital role in the team’s success. He retired from International cricket very recently and won’t be having too much pressure. He might go all out against the opposition. The best of Eoin Morgan in domestic cricket might come this season.

2) Ravi Bopara:

The reputed all-rounder can do wonders for the team. Ravi Bopara was impressive last year and has amassed 8281 runs in T20s. He can be a great asset for London Spirit if he gives his best. Known for his all-round skills, he can come in late to play a quickfire inning.

3) Zak Crawley:

Zak Crawley can be effective with the bat. He can bat in the top order and amass some valuable runs for the team. With enough experience under his belt, Zak Crawley can make substantial contribution for the team.

Probable XI: Adam Rossington, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Ravi Bopara, Dan Lawrence, Eoin Morgan (c), Zak Crawley, Jordan Thompson, Nathan Ellis, Chris Wood, Brad Wheal, Mason Crane

Pitch and weather:

No rain interruption is expected at the Kia Oval. It is a batting friendly surface and the teams winning the toss would look to bowl first. Anything between 150 and 170 would be a good total to post.
