India’s all-rounder, Deepak Hooda couldn’t make a solid impression with the bat in the third ODI against New Zealand as he got out after scoring 12 runs in 25 balls. He would have stayed there for longer as umpire didn't give him out when he nicked Southee's bouncer through to the keeper.
The New Zealand pacer bowled an accurate bouncer to Hooda. The latter was cramped for room but still decided to go for the pull. The ball had taken the edge and went to the keeper but neither bowler nor the wicket-keeper could hear the sound. Both of them gave the impression that the ball had missed Hooda’s bat.
The on-field umpire too gave it as a wide but Kane Williamson was pretty alert. He, immediately, had a hunch and went for the review. As it turned out, Hooda edged it and the umpired had to overturn their decision.
"The bowler didn't appeal, the keeper didn't seem interested but there was somebody around who thought that they should take the DRS," said Harsha Bhogle in the commentary.
"It was Kane Williamson," said former India women's team captain Anjum Chopra.

Deepak Hooda’s wicket saw India lose their sixth wicket for 149 runs on the board. However, Washinton Sundar held fort at one end and was, in fact, the last man to lose his wicket. He played a valuable knock of 51 runs in 64 balls, helping the team reach a respectable score of 219 runs in the first innings.
New Zealand, in reply, are cruising in the run-chase. At the time of writing, the Blackcaps have managed to score 97 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. Finn Allen played a handy knock of 57 runs in 54 balls, including 8 fours and 1 six.
Devon Conway is unbeaten on 31 off 45 balls, while Williamson has just arrived in the middle.
