Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian Cricket team, has recently expressed his support for Tilak Varma to bat at the No.4 position in the 2023 World Cup. This endorsement by a seasoned cricketer like Shastri carries significant weight and raises intriguing questions about Varma's potential as a middle-order batsman.
Firstly, it is important to acknowledge Shastri's vast experience and knowledge of the game. As a former player and now coach, he possesses an astute understanding of players' abilities and their suitability for different positions. His backing of Varma suggests that he sees immense talent in the young cricketer.
Secondly, Varma's recent performances have been impressive. He has displayed remarkable skill and composure while batting in domestic matches. His ability to handle pressure situations and adapt to different game scenarios makes him an ideal candidate for the crucial No.4 spot.
Fans have expressed mixed reactions, with some expressing dissatisfaction with the selection committee; previously, there was a lot of preparation for world cups and building a team, but that is no longer the case; others expressed that whatever Ravi Shastri's character was, Team India was very successful during his tenure, and still others suggested that Thilak should be trailed in the Asia Cup before going to the World Cup.
It is essential to consider other contenders for this position as well
However, it is essential to consider other contenders for this position as well. The Indian team boasts several talented batsmen who could potentially excel at No.4. Therefore, it will ultimately be up to the selectors to make a well-informed decision based on various factors such as form, fitness, and overall team strategy. several supporters were also dissatisfied with Ravi Shastri's decision to select Vijay Shankar for the 2019 World Cup, which resulted in failure, and several wanted Rahul and Shreyas to be backed, who have more experience in international cricket and competitive events.
Ravi Shastri's endorsement of Tilak Varma at No.4 for India in the 2023 World Cup highlights both his faith in the young cricketer's abilities and his desire to strengthen India's middle-order batting prowess. While this recommendation should be taken into consideration by selectors, it is crucial that they evaluate all available options before making a final decision that will contribute towards India's success in one of cricket's most prestigious tournaments.
Look at how the fans have reacted:
He should play Asia cup if performed well should be in wc squad . If Iyer walks in chances for winning wc is less bcoz he had not played cricket since Jan and in Asia cup pak.will be brutal team for india with their trio rocketing fast bowlers

The problem with Indians selectors and fans is "if someone plays 2 or 3 good games we choose him over our main players. For ex. Hooda, Varun chakrabarty, Umran malik.

Yes we should give them a chance but direct WC? 😏
I would agree with him. If Shreyas Iyer is not fit, then I would rather have an inexperienced Tilak Verma play at number 4 than KL Rahul who hasn’t done anything of value in games that matter despite having a ton of experience.

Iyer has done nothing wrong with his spot. People giving suggestions are forgetting that Iyer is one of the most consistent & most run getting batsman since last two years. Tilak is very good, left-hander, bt Iyer should be picked before him.

He is a good batsman but Isn’t it premature to decide a spot for world cup based on T20 performance? I mean this could be posted after asia cup atleast if he plays..
