Rinku Singh, the standout batter for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2023 season, produced a few incredible innings, and everyone anticipated him to receive an India call-up. However, when the squad for the West Indies tour was announced, Rinku's name was absent, opening the floodgates of criticism towards the Indian selectors.

Along with Rinku, Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was also excluded from the T20I series against Windes, which begins on August 3. However, recent reports suggest that both of India's emerging talents would be rewarded for their exceptional performances in the IPL 2023 during the three-match T20I series against Ireland in August.

Amidst these developments, Rinku now visited the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan for darshan. The southpaw is the latest India cricketer to seek divine blessings at sacred places. Recently, left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav was spotted at the Prem Mandir in Vrindavan. Former India captain Virat Kohli, former Test vice-captain KL Rahul and all-rounder Axar Patel also visited temples to offer their prayers in the past few months.

Rinku took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a picture with four others inside the temple with the caption:“Hail Shri Banken Bihari Lal”.

Everyone's time will come: Rohit Sharma's message to Rinku and other youngsters

Although Gaikwad was not named in India's T20I squad for the West Indies tour, he and Yashasvi Jaiswal were selected for the Test series starting on July 12. Just like Rinku, Sarfaraz Khan, who has excelled in the domestic circuit for the past few years, was left out of the red-ball cricket series. However, Indian captain Rohit Sharma said that these players will definitely get opportunities in the future.

"Obviously these names (Jaiswal and Gaikwad) are quite exciting for Indian cricket moving forward. You know they have put hard yards in domestic cricket and they have been rewarded for it. All these guys were on the radar, selectors were watching them closely and I am glad they have been rewarded," Rohit told reporters.

"There are a couple of guys who have missed out. Unfortunately, you can only pick 15-16 players in the squad. But everyone's time will come. That is what I want to say," he added.
