It was a great Sunday for the Indian cricket team and its fans. Indian Women’s cricket team won their one-off Test versus Australia by 8 wickets in Mumbai. The Wankhede Stadium was packed as many fans thronged to see the team in action.

Harmanpreet Kaur and her team have won the second test match in a row. England were humbled last weekend when India outclassed their opponents. DY Patil Stadium witnessed a huge crowd cheering every move from the Indian team. 

Young batter Jemimah Rodrigues has a huge fan following across India for her batting skills. After the end of the game, the young batter from Mumbai went over to the crowds to share her appreciation. The 23-year-old was at the non-striker's end when the winning runs were hit by Smriti Mandhana.

Just as Smriti Mandhana came down the pitch to hit the winning runs, Rodrigues was all smiles. The Indian women’s team had beaten Australia in a Test Match for the first time. This win now puts India on the verge of a breakthrough as far as Test Cricket is concerned. 

Taking to her Social Media platform, 23-year-old Indian batter was overwhelmed. The young batter wrote “Coming every day for the Test Match even before the first ball could be bowled and till the end of the day nonstop cheering with their world-class chants!! 

Deepti Sharma top-scored with 78 runs from 171 balls in the first innings. Rodrigues was the 2nd highest scorer as she hit 73 runs from 121 balls with 9 hits to the fence. In the 2nd dig, the right-handed batter was not out on 12 runs from 15 balls to guide the team home to a famous win.

Speaking after the epic win, Harmanpreet Kaur gave credit to the team for the way they have played so far. India’s skipper also thanked the Indian Cricket Board and the Selectors for the opportunities. The 34-year-old also thanked the fans for their amazing support to huge cheers from the crowd.
