India has emerged as the best team in the World Cup so far and the points table is telling the same story India is looking like a complete team all together. But Hardik Pandya’s injury has given a jolt to India’s combination as India is currently not looking at Shardul Thakur as the fifth bowling option who was played in the presence of Pandya.

To fill Hardik Pandya’s boots India had to bring in Mohammad Shami into the side in place of Shardul Thakur and Suryakumar Yadav in place of Hardik Pandya as he used to play both the roles of a fifth bowler and a No.6 batsman. It would not be wrong to say that Hardik Pandya was the most important in the Indian team’s lineup and his absence has left India to play with only five bowlers.

Although India’s bowling has been in sublime form so far in the tournament the team management is vary of the fact that in case of an off-day for any bowler or two, the Indians require some crucial overs from their part-timer. Against Bangladesh when Hardik got injured in the middle of his over, Virat took charge to complete the remaining overs but in the upcoming matches the Indian team is looking for some more bowling options to bowl some overs if needed.

The lack of a sixth bowling option could become a problem for India which is why in the recent video released by the Indian Cricket Board, we could see the likes of SuryaKumar Yadav, Virat Kohli and Shubhman Gill rolling their arms.

"Virat Kohli took the initiative to explore his part-time seam bowling skills, sending down a few deliveries to India's captain Rohit Sharma and the talented Shubman Gill. After this, only Kohli prepared himself for an extensive batting session.

Later that evening, Gill and Suryakumar Yadav, neither of whom had previously bowled in One Day Internationals, decided to test their off-breaks. Gill, in a role reversal, bowled to Mohammed Siraj, while Yadav floated a few deliveries to Sharma and Shreyas Iyer. It's worth noting that Yadav had faced issues with his bowling action and was reported during his stint with the Mumbai Indians in the 2014 Champions League T20."
