Team India has already arrived for the Caribbean tour and is set to play their first ODI today at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. India is touring the West Indies for a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series. Dhawan is all set to lead the ODI team and Jadeja was initially named as his deputy. With just hours to go for the first match, it has now been reported that Jadeja will miss out on the first ODI owing to an injury.

A report from IndieSport claims that the left-handed batter has injured himself and is ruled out of the first ODI. It has also been reported that the aggressive all-rounder is unlikely to play the entire ODI series. Jadeja has an injury on his left knee and will not be able to play the first ODI. The report further read that the Team India medical staff have requested him to withdraw from the ODI series. He was announced as the deputy for Shikhar and it will be up to the coach to decide the replacement.

On the other hand, KL Rahul has tested positive for Covid-19 and therefore will miss the T20I series. He was all set to make his comeback for Team India and was undergoing rehabilitation at NCA. With him testing positive for Covid-19, it will be another headache for India to find a perfect alternative. Over the past few weeks, injuries in the Indian team have been mounting.

Rahul is also set to lead India in the upcoming Zimbabwe tour. However, it will be up to the batter to get fit and running for the series. With injuries mounting for Team India, the fans are in deep displeasure and the concern regarding the fitness of the players is pretty high. Time has not been kind to the classy batter from Karnataka, as he has been out of the team for a while now. He would be hoping to get fit as early as possible.
