The second season of the Road Safty World Series is all set to begin with the title holders India Legends clashing with South Africa Legends in the curtain raiser of the tournament on September 10th. The eight-team event is exclusively meant for retired cricketers from India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, England, New Zealand, Bangladesh, West Indies and Australia.
The Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina who recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket has joined the Sachin Tendulkar-led India Legends side for the upcoming tournament. The former top scorer of the Indian T20 League has already begun his training for the cricketing extravaganza.
Raina recently shared a video of him sweating it out in the nets ahead of his debut for the exclusive event. He shared the video of the net session with the caption, “All set for the RSWS. Team #IndiaLegends.’ The video shows him walking to the nets and partaking in different training sessions, with a song by late singer Sidhu Mossewala as its background. The video had gone viral as there was major intrigue in the player following his retirement.
The Instagram post however has further been popularised with legendary West Indies cricketer Brian Lara’s comments on it. The former West Indies captain commented, “Take it easy on us,” on Raina’s post. Users were pleasantly surprised to see two legends of the game interacting with each other on social media.
