The Australian Open (AO 2023) is ongoing and the players are leaving no stone unturned to bag the title, with Belarus star Aryna Sabalenka grabbing the women’s singles title after defeating Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan on January 28, Saturday, in what can be called the best outing for the Belarus star as she crushed her opponent with a scoreline of 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. 

To add more, it was the Kazakhstani star who clinched the first set, dominating the contest completely early on in the day. As far as the first set is concerned, it was Rybakina who started off the proceedings by winning the first game, with the 24-year-old bouncing back and matching the lead in the second game. However, after a steady fightback, it was the Kazakh star who clinched the set. 

Sabalenka, on the other hand, looked clueless in the initial set and rusty, unsure of how to make a comeback. One has to agree what followed was something spectacular, with the spectators going gaga over her skills and ability that helped her make a stunning comeback, eventually bagging the women’s singles title of the Happy Slam event.

To add more, the Belarus star looked more confident during the second set, with the hope to clinch the AO 2023 title as she got off to a fiery start winning the first game. There was a comeback initially from Rybakina as she matched the lead but the 24-year-old ensured to not be taken aback and eventually won the set 3-6, making it a thrilling encounter with fans speculating that there was something very special in the offing. 

It was all delight for the Belarusian player as she won the third set as well, scripting a magnificent win as she defeated her Kazakh opponent despite losing the first set. The crowd, on the other, were on their feet as they lauded the young star to create history right in front of their eyes, making it one of the best games witnessed in the tournament this year.
