Pujara and Suryakumar join the West Zone Duleep Trophy squad after being removed from the Test team against West Indies. Surya will play for India in a three-match ODI series following the Tests.

Priyank Panchal to lead West Zone; Prithvi Shaw is included, while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad are unavailable due to Test call-ups against the West Indies.

The first Test for India will occur in Dominica from July 12 to July 16, and the second and final match will happen in Jamaica from July 20 to July 24. The summit match is set to begin on July 12, while the Duleep Trophy will start on June 28.

It is the opening competition of India's domestic season in 2023–24. Six teams will compete in the event for the top prizes: East Zone, West Zone, North Zone, South Zone, Central Zone, and North-East Zone.

In the team that Rohit Sharma will lead for India's Test match versus the West Indies, Umesh Yadav, suspected to be not included in the team, has been dropped while Mohammed Shami has been rested. Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini have been brought in as replacements for the duo who might partner up with Mohammed Siraj.

Ishan Kishan, among the wicketkeepers selected by the Indian team for the West Indies tour, pulled out of the East Zone side for the domestic event, according to a report by PTI earlier this month. Seasoned wicketkeeper batter Wriddhiman Saha also declined, claiming the tournament is for India’s youngsters. Former India bowler and coach Venkatesh Prasad also strongly responded to Jalaj Saxena's exclusion from the South Zone selection.
