On Monday, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant took to social media to give an update on his condition following a severe car accident in December. On an emotional note, he confirmed that he is on the road to recovery, and expressed his gratitude for the support he has received from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), its Secretary Jay Shah, and government authorities.

As a result of the accident, Pant sustained injuries that will keep him out of action for most of the 2023 season. The BCCI arranged for him to be transferred to Mumbai for treatment, and he underwent knee ligament surgery last week. Despite the setback, Pant remains optimistic about his recovery and is determined to return to the field stronger than ever.

For the first time after his horrific car accident, the 25-year-old took to his social media accounts and posted a thank you note for his well-wishers. On Instagram he wrote:

“I am humbled and grateful for all the support and good wishes. Just wanted to let everyone know that my surgery was successful and I am grateful to be on the road to recovery. My spirits are high, and I am feeling better every day and I want to extend my gratitude to all of you for your kind words, support, and positive energy during this difficult time.”

"I am humbled and grateful for all the support and good wishes. I am glad to let you know that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead.
