Washing Sundar said that he always dreamt of playing for Lancashire county and looks like he has had a dream start in his first outing with the club. The Indian youngster picked a four-for and put his team in a strong position. Sundar is yet to make a comeback to the Indian Test team since March 2021. The youngster is on a roll to find his way back into the team.
Sundar managed to pick up four wickets for his team in his first-ever outing. The Indian all-rounder managed to pick the wickets of the opposition captain Will Young, Ryan Rickleton, Rob Keogh and Tom Taylor, with Tom Taylor being the last victim of the day. Out of his four wickets, two were LBWs, one caught at slip and one by the wicket-keeper.
Needless to say that the Indian players have been having a great time at the County Championship 2022. Recently the Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara was made captain of his county team, Sussex. Sundar was a recent addition to the Lancashire club and since then the youngster was on his toes to get into the field. Sundar might need more of such spells to ring the bells for the Indian selectors.
Sundar bowled as many as 20 overs, giving just 69 runs and picking up a four-for in the innings. This marks a tremendous beginning for the youngster and he might be looking forward to continuing his form in the next innings as well. The youngster is known for his partnership with Rishabh Pant in the Gabba test of the 2020/21 series against Australia and he might be wanting to replicate the same here as well.
Given the batter can contribute with the bat, Lancashire county will look forward to making full use of his potential and thus giving it a go on Day 2 after bowling out the remaining players in the opposition camp. Time has to tell if Sundar can make a comeback to the Indian Test side or not.
