Virat Kohli, one of the most influential cricketers of the last decade, has made a lasting impact on the sport with his numerous batting records and a tally of international centuries second only to Sachin Tendulkar. As the former captain of India, Kohli led the team to many crucial Test victories. Naturally, he enjoys popularity beyond anyone's wildest imagination.
Recently, Kohli took to social media to answer some offbeat questions in a video. One of the questions was particularly unique, as he was asked, "Who is the historical female figure you'd like to take out for dinner?" The star cricketer replied, "I never had the opportunity to meet Lataji, so it would have been amazing to have a conversation and get to know more about her life and journey."
Kohli's mention of Lata Mangeshkar, a renowned Indian playback singer, highlights his appreciation for the Indian music industry. Mangeshkar has been the voice behind many iconic Bollywood songs and has received numerous awards and accolades for her contributions to the Indian music industry.
Babar Azam and Virat Kohli comparison doesn't make sense- Misbah-ul-Haq
Kohli's fans and experts often compare him with Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam, who has been making waves in international cricket. The India batter has been awarded the ODI Cricketer of the Year twice, in 2017 and 2018, cementing his status as one of the best batsmen in the world.
Pakistan's former skipper Mishbah-ul- Haq however has completely dismissed the comparisons and has called the practice a 'senseless' task.
“There shouldn't be a comparison between the two. Kohli has played a lot of cricket, Babar is just starting. When Babar will play the same amount of cricket, then you can make a comparison. Kohli has played more cricket, and no one can match him at the moment," Misbah said to paktv.tv.
"Yes, Babar is a class player and he might achieve the same things as Kohli in the future, but at the moment, comparison between the two doesn't make sense because it's just a start for Babar," he added.
