Fans react with anger after India lost the second ODI to South Africa by 8 wickets in Gqeberha on Tuesday thanks to an unbeaten maiden ODI century by Tony De Zorzi

South African batter Tony De Zorzi scored his first ODI century as he pulverized the Indian bowling to all parts of the ground. The win during the second ODI on Tuesday in Gqeberha made sure the series is level at 1-1.

Aiden Markram opted to field first after winning the toss against the KL Rahul led side. Shreyas Iyer missed the game as he is with the Indian test team. Rinku Singh came into the team and played his first ODI game for the country.

It was an inspired bowling effort from South Africa as they had the Indian batters hopping on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. Apart from Sai Sudharsan and KL Rahul none of the batters could get going.

Tony De Zorsi helps South Africa win in fine style –

India had set South Africa a target of 212 runs to win and KL Rahul would have hope of an encore from Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm-pacer had got five wickets during India’s massive win in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Reeza Hendricks and Tony De Zorzi had different plans as they took the attack to the opposition. Both the batters were severe on anything short and wide as they played the ball with ease. Ruturaj Gaikwad dropped an early chance to give Reeza Hendricks a second chance to score runs.

Arshdeep Singh provided the first breakthrough when he dismissed Reeza Hendricks for 52 runs. Rassie Van Der Dussen came to the wicket kept the scoreboard ticking and helped his team get close to a target. It was a special day for Tony De Zorzi who hit first ODI century and also hit the winning runs to help his team win the game. 

Sai Sudharsan with 62 runs and KL Rahul with 56 were the two lead scorers for India. After the fall of both batters, the Indian team lost wickets at regular intervals. It was Arshdeep Singh’s 18 which helped India cross the 200-run mark to make it look respectable.
