Cricket South Africa has announced the Women’s squad's two upcoming assignments including the T20I series against England and Commonwealth games in England’s Birmingham. The selectors have given rest to the star all-rounder Dane Van Niekerk as she is still recovering from her ankle injury.

The team will play in both assignments under the leadership of Sune Luus. The South African Women’s team has also played under her leadership previously. It was the time during the Women’s World Cup of 2022 in New Zealand. In that international tournament, they made it to the semi-final.

Senior player Mignon du Preez will also feature in the T20 internationals. Notably, she has already announced her retirement from the ODI and Test format earlier at the beginning of this year. Selectors’ convenor Clinton du Preez also reckoned that Mignon’s come back will strengthen the batting lineup of the team.

South African women will play the T20I series against England from July 18 (Monday). Chelmsford, Worcester, and Derby will be the three hosting venues for this three-match series.

After the series against England women, South Africa will start their campaign in the Commonwealth Games on July 30 (Saturday). Suun Luus & co. will face the New Zeland in their opening fixture at Birmingham’s Edgbaston Stadium.

Later on, in the CWG 2022, South Africa will play against England and Sri Lanka on August 2, and August 4 respectively.
