Indian Premier League 2023, has been phenomenal for Indian players as they rocked with both bat and ball. Notably, in the final game of the season, Ravindra Jadeja smashed a boundary and six of the last two balls to get the trophy home for CSK. However, someone's success is someone's failure and that same happened with Mohit Sharma.

Mohit, who bowled brilliantly in the last two games was charged on the last two balls and things changed for him. He took a five-fer against Mumbai Indians in qualifier 2 and three wickets against CSK in the finals but eventually things didn't go with his flow. However, Mohit opened up about that night and his spell. While speaking with Indian Express, he confessed that he had a sleepless night after the final game.

"I ran and tried to bowl (yorker) again. I just wanted to be focused and back myself. Whole IPL I have done that. The ball landed where it shouldn't have and Jadeja got his bat. I tried, I tried my best. They wanted to know what will be his plan of action. I said I will again try to bowl a Yorker. People are now saying this and that but frankly it has no meaning. I knew what I wanted to do."

"I couldn't sleep. Sochta raha kya alag karta joh match jeet jaate. What if I could have bowled this ball or that ball? It's not a nice feeling now. Somewhere something is missing but I'm trying to move on," Mohit stated in the end. He further also spoke about his career and how a veteran player picked him from nowhere.

"He broke his rhythm", Sunil Gavaskar slams Hardik Pandya

Mohit further said,

"I was picked from nowhere. I remember speaking to Ani bhai (Anirudh Chaudhary, a veteran Haryana administrator) before the season what shall I do? Shall I continue or not? He had said I should try to play. I had come with no expectations and just have to continue to work hard. My work ethic has remained the same don't know what lies ahead, but have enjoyed my journey."

Meanwhile, speaking about Mohit Sharma's last over former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar slammed Hardik Pandya for disturbing him.

“He bowled that first 3-4 deliveries brilliantly. Then for some strange reason, some water was sent to him, in the middle of an over. Then Hardik came and spoke to him. When the bowler is in that rhythm and he is mentally also there, nobody should have to say anything to him. Nothing at all. From a distance just say well bowled. Going to him, talking to him, that wasn't the right thing to do. Suddenly Mohit was looking here and there,” he said.
