Everything you need to know about the Saurashtra Premier League (SPL) as the T20 tournament returns for its third season this month.

The Saurashtra Premier League (SPL) will return for its third season this month. The 20-over cricket tournament will kick off on June 15 and conclude with the summit clash on June 24. SkyFair is the presenting partner of SPL 2023. Five different teams from the Saurashtra region will participate in this edition - Kutch Warriors, Gohilwad Gladiators, Halar Heroes, Sorath Lions, and Zalawad Royals.

Indian Premier League (IPL) stars like Sheldon Jackson (Kolkata Knight Riders), Chetan Zakaria (Delhi Capitals), and Prerak Mankad (Lucknow Super Giants) will also participate in the tournament. Sorath Lions were champions in the inaugural season (2019) and Halar Heroes won in the second season.

A total of 10 matches will be played in the league stage. This is the first time SPL will be held in two consecutive years. After the debut edition, the tournament was suspended for the next two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, before returning to action in 2022.

All you need to know about SPL 2023:

Venue: All matches will be played at Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium, Rajkot.

Format: The tournament is played in a round-robin format where the top two teams make the final of the league after the group stage.

Presenting Partner: SkyFair is the presenting partner of the SPL 2023.

Opening game: The tournament will begin with a clash between defending champions Halar Heroes and Gohilwad Gladiators.

Live stream: The SPL 2023 will be streamed live on Jio Cinema (app and website).
