South Africa and India will lock horns in the third of the five-match T20I series. The visitors are leading the series with a score line of 2-0. Bavuma’s men have completely outplayed the Indian team in the first and second T20I. Both teams will play the third T20I on June 14 (Tuesday).

Recently, the 27-year-old Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has talked about the batting plan of the hosts. He said that their plan is to keep hitting the shots even in the case of losing wickets. Iyer also said that India will like go ahead with the same game plan in the future as well.

It's our game plan for the future too - Iyer

“We have made this plan that we will keep going no matter what happens, even if we keep losing wickets, it’s our game plan and in the future too, we will go in with the same mindset. We will back ourselves and back our instincts,”- Iyer was quoted as saying to Hindustan Times.

“Our main aim is obviously the World Cup, so we have to see to it that we plan towards it, so we have that sort of mindset where we are completely free and not thinking about anything else. No matter what happens, whatever plans we discuss in the team meeting, we have to execute those. Even if we fail, we will learn from that and grow as a player and grow as a team. So that’s more important till we reach Australia,” -he added later.

To note, India is playing in this series without the senior players including the likes of KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. Now, the team would have to win all the remaining matches of the series if they want to win the series against South Africa.

Iyer has played a decent knock of 40 runs in the second match to take India to a total of 148 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Speaking of the game, the South African team easily chased the target with the help of Heinrich Klassen's blistering knock of 81 runs.
