David Warner, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, won the toss and decided to bat against the Gujarat Titans in the 2023 Indian Premier League match on Tuesday in Ahmedabad. The main piece of news is Mitchell Marsh's absence from the starting lineup due to illness. While Khaleel Ahmed will be kept on DC's list of Impact Substitutes, Rilee Rossouw is back in the starting XI. Gujarat's starting XI has not changed from their previous game.

Their decision to bat first was proved to be the wrong one by Gujarat Titan’s premium pace bowler Mohammed Shami as he gave only 7 runs and took four wickets in his three over spell in the powerplay. The Delhi Capitals’ batters didn’t have any sort of game plan to score against him and this was one of the best spells seen in a while from him. 

Delhi Capitals lost their skipper also due to a mix-up with Priyam Garg and that meant the visiting side had half of its side back in the pavilion with only 28 runs on the board after the powerplay. 

Taking a look at how Shami took the four wickets against the Delhi Capitals?

After bowling his first ball way outside off, which fortunately resulted in the dismissal of DC opener Phil Salt, Shami was as sharp as ever. The Englishman hit Miller directly with the ball resulting in his wicket. Shami kept an upright seam posture for the duration of the remaining three overs of his bowling, and it paid off. 

A few of his deliveries had more swing than he had preferred, and when he got it perfect, which was most of the time, he trapped the batters. Priyam Garg fought to put stick to ball and was unable to control the modest late movement .All three of Rilee Rossouw, Manish Pandey, and subsequently Garg wicket’s were a failed attempt to drive and succumbed to the late movement, which wicketkeeper Wridhiman Saha correctly collected behind the stumps.

No doubt Shami was great but look at that catch of Saha , his shoes should be checked if he has planted springs in them like ponting had in his bat in 2003 world cup final
