Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi took a dig at Cricket Governing Body over India’s participation in Asia Cup that was scheduled to be held in Pakistan. The tournament is now on the verge of being shifted to a neutral venue after the Indian Cricket Board decided that their team will not participate in the tournament if it will be held in Pakistan.

Pakistan also came with a threat of not participating in the ODI World Cup that is scheduled to be held in India, later, this year. Indian Cricket Board is very clear in its decision not to travel to Pakistan because of the political reasons between both countries. Afridi said the Cricket Governing body have to play a crucial role in this matter, but they won’t be able to do anything in front of the Indian Cricket Board.

"I have no idea, will India visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup? Will we boycott the ODI World Cup in India? But we need to take a stand at some point or the other," Afridi told 'Samaa TV'

"In this case Cricke Governing Body's role becomes crucial, they should come forward, but let me say it even they won't be able to do anything in front of BCCI," he added.

The former cricketer also added that Indian Cricket Board is flexing muscles because they have made themselves that strong.

"If anyone is unable to stand on his own feet and then the decision to make such strong calls is not easy. They have to look at plenty of things. India agar aankhe dikha raha hain (If India is flexing its muscles) or taking such strong stance, then they have made themselves that strong,” said Afridi.

"So they are able to talk like this, otherwise they wouldn't have the courage. At the end it's about making yourself strong and then take decisions,” he further added.
