Pakistan started the 20-20 World Cup on a torrid note losing two games in the first two encounters to India and Zimbabwe before turning it around in their last two games against South Africa and Bangladesh where they beat their cross-border neighbours by five wickets to book a place in the semi-final.
New Zealand started off with a dominating 89 run win against Australia and in the Super 12 stages won all their games except one where they lost to England by 20 runs. The winner of this match goes to the final of 20-20 World Cup 2022. New Zealand will be hoping to go one step ahead as compared to last year and Pakistan will hope for a repeat of 1992.
The Pakistan Team turned their 20-20 World Cup 2022 campaign around with back-to-back wins against South Africa and Bangladesh which helped them earn a spot in the semi-finals of the 20-20 World Cup. The Men in Green are currently playing New Zealand in the first semi-final at the Sydney Cricket Ground where New Zealand scored 152-4 in their 20 overs.
The top scorer was Daryl Mitchell who made 53 off 35 balls with three fours and one six. The New Zealand skipper Kane Willamson scored a laborious 46 off 42 balls with one four and one six. In reply, at the time of writing, Pakistan are 54-0 in 5.5 overs.
Shaheen Afridi stole the show with his heart-warming gesture for an Indian fan. At the culmination of the practice session, the ace of pace for Pakistan was seen signing autographs for his fans. One among them was an Indian fan who asked Shaheen for an autograph on the Indian flag and it was duly signed by Shaheen.

The Men in Green had a horror start to their 20-20 World Cup 2022 as they lost to India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in a thriller by four wickets and then lost another close game by one run in Perth against Zimbabwe. Against Bangladesh, Shaheen Afridi was back to his menacing best as he picked up 4-22 against their Asian rivals.
