Indian women who are on the tour of Bangladesh, won the second T20I against and sealed the series with a game left. On a tricky batting surface in Dhaka, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bat first. India had a good start as the opening pair of Smrithi Mandhana and Shafali Verma scored 33 runs in 4 overs.

The dismissal of Mandhana led to the collapse of the Indian batting. All the batters following them played some deliveries, which took some time to settle but failed. Kaur was out for a golden duck, and the other batters like Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia, Harleen Deal, and Deepti Sharma could not get going either.

In 20 overs, India scored only 95 runs. Only 62 runs came in the last 15 overs. Chasing 96, Bangladesh batters also struggled to score runs. After scoring 10 runs in the first over, Bangladesh lost quick wickets and found themselves at 30/4. The home side could not get going in their innings.

Incredible last over from Shafali Verma

In the last over of the match, Bangladesh needed 10 runs to win with four wickets in hand, Shafali Verma was given the responsibility to defend the target. On the first delivery, Verma got rid of Rabeya Khan, thanks to a run out from Verma and Amanjot Kaur. On the second delivery, Verma dismissed Nahida Akter.

The third ball of the over was a dot ball. As Bangladesh needed 10 runs in 3 balls, Shafali dismissed Fatima Khatun as she caught the ball off her bowling. The fifth ball of the over yielded yet another dot ball, as India all but sealed the game virtually. Without a no-ball, there was no chance for Bangladesh to win the game. The last ball of the over produced yet another wicket, as Verma dismissed Marufa Akter. Shafali conceded only a run defending 10 runs in the last over and claimed 3 wickets. India won the match by 8 runs and sealed the series.
