Shadab Khan's hilarious response to Babar Azam's 'buddha ho gaya hai' comment wins the internet

Babar Azam and Shadab Khan were involved in banter at an event following Pakistan's loss to England in first Test match.

Pakistan cricket team, after remaining in the shadows for much of the last decade has been on a rise again. Under the captaincy of Babar Azam, the Pakistan team did qualified for the 20-20 World Cup in Australia this year. They also reached the quarterfinals of the event in 2021.

Additionally, they were the finalists of the Asia Cup 2022 as well, defeating India in the process. Although they have failed to win a major title, their overall outing in limited-overs international cricket has been decent.

On Wednesday, Pakistan players took part in an event organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board wherein they had casual conversations about their time with the national team. During one such session Shadab Khan, Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi took to the stage and talked about

The anchor then asked the all-rounder Shadab Khan about Babar Azam’s comment made during a 2021 match. In an interview, Pakistan’s captain had made a hilarious comment on Shadab wherein he had said, “Buddha ho gaya hai.”

The event attendees burst into laughter after hearing the comments made earlier. As the buzz settled down a little, Shadab said, “Abhi maine matches khele hain, toh usko yaad aa gaya tha dobara. Abhi toh ham same hi ho gaye hain, dono ek jaise hi chal rahe hain (During the matches, he got reminded of that incident. Now we are alike, we are performing more or less the same!),” Shadab said.

Pakistan are currently playing a Test series against England at home after a long wait of 17 years. In the first match, the home team faced an embarrassing loss as England posted a humongous total of 506 runs on the first day itself. The game was heading towards a draw but England made a match out of it by declaring with four sessions still to play.

Pakistan however failed to grab the opportunity and lost by 74 runs. The two teams will now clash in the 2nd Test from 9th December in Multan.
