Neeraj Chopra has earned himself the title of 'India's golden boy' after his gold medal in Javelin Throw at the Tokyo Olympics last year. The 25-year-old became the second Indian to win a medal at the World Athletics Championship with an 88.13-meter throw. However, the athlete picked up an injury during the event and missed out on the Commonwealth Games 2022 held in Birmingham.
Post World Athletics Championships, the Khandra-born revealed the discomfort he felt in his thighs when asked about the straps. This caused a buzz around the sporting fraternity in India. Chopra later confirmed that he'll miss out on the Birmingham event. After almost a month, the golden boy has now confirmed his participation in Lausanne Diamond League.
Chopra took it to Twitter to inform the same to his fans who were eagerly waiting for his return. He enlightened on his fitness and cleared the air by revealing that he was all set to take on the league. "Feeling strong and ready for Friday. Thanks for the support, everyone. See you in Lausanne!," he wrote on his Twitter account.

This will be the qualification to get into the Diamond League final to be held in Zurich on September 6 and 7. The Olympic gold medalist is placed at number four after finishing second in the Stockholm Diamond League. The top six will march on to the finals of the Diamond League.
After finishing second at the World Athletics Championships, Chopra said that his hunger for gold will be undiminished. This news has come as a relief for all of his fans who eagerly awaited his return. Neeraj Chopra has earlier participated in eight Diamond Leagues in his career and has done well in all of them. He participated in three Diamond leagues in 2017, four in 2018 and one in the current year.
This will be a great opportunity for the youngster to make a strong comeback after the injury. He might as well make India proud once again if he finishes strong in the competition.
