KL Rahul has been one of the mainstays in the Indian team for the last 4-5 years. The batter had shown the versatility of batting in different positions in different formats. In Test cricket, Rahul batted as an opener and as a number 3. In ODIs, the Mangalore-born cricketer batted as an opener, at 3, at 4, at 5, and also at 6. In T20Is, KL batted as an opener, at number 3, and number 4.

Rahul has many roles cut out for him throughout his career. In limited-overs cricket, the Karnataka wicketkeeper-batsman also kept wickets for India. Rahul suffered an injury in South Africa at the beginning of 2022, ending his prime cricket career. Rahul has been a shell of his former self ever since then.

In IPL 2023, KL Rahul missed the tournament midway due to a thigh injury. The Lucknow Super Giant captain was replaced by Krunal Pandya as the captain of the side. Rahul underwent a quick surgery, which was successful. Currently, the opening batter is undergoing rehabilitation.

Since his surgery, KL Rahul has been posting images of his recovery on his social media handle. The Indian batter has been slowly, but steadily recovering. Although the former Indian captain missed the big World Test Championship final against Australia, everyone is hopeful of him returning to the team by September this year.

Recently, Rahul posted a video of him working in the gym on his Instagram story. The batter was seen doing heavy exercises to stabilize his thighs. Seeing his commitment, many praised the efforts of Rahul by sharing the video on social media.

KL Rahul has played 72 T20Is for India and scored 2265 runs at an average of 37.75, at a strike rate of 139.13, including 2 centuries and 22 fifties. In ODIs, Rahul has 1986 runs in 54 matches at an average of 45.14, at a strike rate of 86.57, including 5 centuries and 13 fifties. In the longest format of the game, Rahul has 2642 runs in 47 matches at an average of 33.44, including 7 hundreds and 13 fifties.
