Fans recently witnessed the inaugural edition of the Women's T20 League where Mumbai beat Delhi in the final to win the maiden title, and before the excitement levels die down, they are going to treat themselves to another blockbuster event, the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League. Ahead of the new season starting on March 31, all the players have started joining their respective teams as the franchises prepare for the two-month long mega tournament.

England's Sam Curran, the most expensive player in ITL history, joined Punjab on Monday, while Australia all-rounder Cameron Green, the highest-paid Mumbai player in the history of the ITL auction, arrived in camp for his debut season. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma also joined his side ahead of their tournament opener against Bangalore on April 2.

Sam Curran joins his new franchise

Curran had a successful campaign with Chennai in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, but the all-rounder did not register for the ITL Mega Auction in February 2022 due to a back injury. The left-hander has now returned to Punjab in 2023, the team that handed his ITL debut in 2019.

The franchise posted a video on its official social media handles showing Curran arriving in Chandigarh ahead of the team's first match against Kolkata on April 1.

The 24-year-old made headlines after this year's auction, when Punjab bought him for Rs 18.50 crore, making it the most expensive pick in ITL history. The franchise has no regrets after breaking its bank as the youngster has the ability to put in match-winning performances and who knows he might even lead the team to win their maiden ITL trophy.

Green and Rohit reach Mumbai camp

Aussie youngster Cameron Green has joined the Mumbai camp ahead of their clash against Bangalore in the fifth match of the tournament. The right-hander became a sensation with his all-round skills which fetched him Rs 17.50 crore, the second most expensive pick in ITL history after Curran.

Mumbai also welcomed the five-time ITL winning captain Rohit before their clash at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. The franchise endured a rough season last year as they finished last in the points table. However, the champions cannot be written off and the Men in Blue will aim to lift a sixth title in 2023 as they have got a power-packed side this time around.
