India and New Zealand are locking horns in the second ODI of the three-match series in Raipur. The match got off to the most bizarre start ever as the Indian captain Rohit Sharma forgot what we wanted to do after winning the toss. He eventually chose to bowl first after contemplating for some seconds. New Zealand openers Finn Allen and Devon Conway were put to Test against some top-notch bowling by the Indian seam duo of Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami.

Shami started the proceedings for India and was immaculate with his line and length right from the word go. He beat the edge of Fin Allenโ€™s bat on numerous occasions as the kiwi opener looked tentative at the crease. Shami eventually got the first strike for India in the first over itself as Allen tried to flick a straight delivery on the on side and missed it completely.

The ball crashed into the stumps as Allen was dismissed for a duck off five balls. Shami got his second strike on the first ball of the seventh over of the innings. Daryl Mitchell tried to defend the first ball by Shami but ended up playing the ball in the air as the bat turned in his hands.

The seamer, who was in his follow through, quickly reacted and caught the ball with his left hand. Mitchell was dismissed for 1 off 3 balls as New Zealand were in all sorts of trouble at 9/3.

Apart from Shami, Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj also picked up one wicket each which left New Zealand reeling at 15/5 in 10.3 overs.

Shami dismissed the dangerous Michael Bracewell

He once again returned in the 19th over of the innings to give New Zealand their sixth blow in the form of the dangerous Michael Bracewell. The fast-medium bowler ended the 41-run stand between Bracewell and Glenn Phillips further tarnishing the hopes of recovery of New Zealand fans.

The 32-year-old had figures of 3/18 in six overs as New Zealand were 98/6 after 29 overs with Phillips unbeaten on 35 and Mitchell Santner on 23.

Twitter was abuzz with reactions on Shami's breathtaking spell. Here are some of the Tweets:
