There was the Indian T20 League auction for the 2023 edition that happened at Kochi on 23 December. There were a lot of big buys in the event but there are players such as Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma who have earned big bucks in the League over years.

Recently, according to a report from Moneyball. Rohit has pipped Dhoni to become the highest earner in the Indian T20 League. His earnings in total come up to INR 178.6 crore. When it comes to Dhoni he has earned INR 176.84 crore from the league. Dhoni was the highest-paid player during the first auction in 2008 when he was paid 6 crore INR.

Shivam Mavi was the most expensive uncapped Indian player

When it comes to the Chennai and Mumbai franchises, they are the two most successful sides in the Indian T20 League having won four titles and five titles respectively. These two sides have also made it to the playoffs in the Indian T20 League the most number of times. They have also been very consistent with the makeup of their sides and show full faith in their players.

There were a lot of big and expensive buys which were done by the Indian T20 League franchises. Sam Curran broke the record of being the most expensive player in an Indian T20 League auction. He went to Punjab for 18.50 crore INR. Cameron Green was the second most expensive player as he went for 17.50 crore INR to the Mumbai franchise. Ben Stokes also had a big payday at the office when he went for 16.25 crore INR to the Chennai franchise. Nicholas Pooran went to the Lucknow side for 16 crore INR. Harry Brook raked in the big bucks when he was brought in by Hyderabad for 13.25 crore INR.

Among the Indian’s, Shivam Mavi had a big day at the auction when the Gujarat franchise picked him at a 6 Crore bid. He was the most expensive domestic and Indian uncapped player. Gujarat replaced Mavi with Lockie Ferguson whom they traded to the Kolkata franchise. Mayank Agarwal also was picked up by Hyderabad for 8.25 Crore INR.
