India ended their Super 12 campaign on a high against Zimbabwe on a high as they beat the Chevrons by 71 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. India put a big total batting first and ended up on 186-5 in their 20 overs. The Men in Blue were helped by KL Rahul who scored 51 off 35 balls with three fours and three sixes.
Suryakumar Yadav also played a brilliant innings of 61 off 25 balls with six fours and four sixes. The bowlers were right on the money as Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 3-22 in his four overs. Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami had good returns with the ball as well as they picked up 2-16 in three overs and 2-14 in two overs respectively. With the win against Zimbabwe, India’s semi-final berth was confirmed.
The semi-finalists were confirmed as Pakistan and New Zealand will lock horns against each other in Sydney whereas India will take on England in the other semi-final at Adelaide. Speaking ahead of the game, Rohit said that he is expecting a good fight from England on the day of the crucial clash.

Here is what he had say, “(About the semi-final against England) The key for us will be to adjust to the conditions as quickly as possible. We have played a game there recently, but England will be a good challenge for us. They have been playing some good cricket. Two teams going at each other, it will be a great contest. We do not want to forget what has got us here, we just need to keep sticking to that and understand what each individual needs to do,” Rohit said after India's comfortable win over Zimbabwe on Sunday.
The skipper also showered high praises for Suryakumar Yadav who has scored 225 runs from five games at an average of 75 and at a strike rate of 193.96. This is what Rohit Sharma had to say about India’s 360-degree player, "It is going to be a high-pressure game. We need to play well. If we do play well there, we have a good game ahead as well. You need to adjust quickly and plan accordingly. They (fans) have been brilliant, coming and watching us. Almost everywhere we have gone, we have got a full house. We expect nothing less in the semi-final. Hats off to them, on behalf of the team I want to thank them," the Indian skipper concluded.
