India are digging themselves into a hole in ODI cricket as they have been clueless as to what their playing XI would look like. The constant change of captains has not helped either as Rohit Sharma has led the side in a very less number of ODIs. They lost the ODI series against New Zealand 1-0 and also the first ODI against Bangladesh.
India also have another growing issue which has become a menace in recent times and that has been injuries. Ahead of the ODI series against Bangladesh, Mohammed Shami did not play in the series due to a shoulder injury as per reports. Injuries have been plaguing the Men in Blue as Rohit Sharma joined the injury list as he was hit on his left thumb in the second over while fielding.
To add to India’s woes, the bowling attack has been hit by injuries yet again as Kuldeep Sen was deemed unfit for the second ODI and also Deepak Chahar and injuries have been having a strong bond of late. Deepak suffered a hamstring injury yet again while bowling and then could not bowl later in the innings.
Rohit has been getting injured very frequently and also has had to deal with fitness issues. He has not led the Indian Team for a long time despite being named as full-time captain across all three formats. His patchy form with the bat has only made things worse. Chahar has been having issues with his hamstring again after he missed the Indian T20 League 2022 and also the 20-20 World Cup in Australia due to a hamstring problem.
It appears that Indian players have shelved their fitness regimes ever since Virat Kohli left the captaincy. Rohit himself has not set a good example with him having fitness issues all the time. The Indian Team are going through a turbulent phase, and they will need something special to lift them out of it. A lot of cricket experts have said that if the players need a break, then they can take it during the Indian T20 League.
Twitter was abuzz, let us take a look at the reactions here -

Why are all swing bowlers from India are so injury prone, FFS.#BANvIND
Time to move on from Deepak if NCA is treating well but is Deepak the only one facing it?
— Abhinandan Nahata (@khelgyani_abhi) December 7, 2022
Washi had series of injuries, Axar too had list of injuries, Bumrah was rushed, Khaleel is another one.
Either NCA needs a revamp or players like Deepak need strict fitness tests.
Rohit sharma ERA should be known as Injury ERA, worst captaincy in India cricket history!

If Axar Patel is batting at No 6 in an ODI match, even after an injury to a top order Batter, someone somewhere needs to be sacked.
— Akash (@Akashkumarjha14) December 7, 2022
If it is Chetan Sharma who is responsible then give him a job and sack him again so that I can calm down.#BANvIND #CricketTwitter

Third injury of the day for India. This is not a good sign for Indian cricket.
Really really hope Washington Sundar stays injury free. Has so much to offer and exactly the skill sets Team India are looking for.. #INDvsBAN

All team go through injuries. But, why its so much high for India ? What’s the problem?
— Kiran Kumar (@07KiranKumar) December 7, 2022
Injury is a BIG CONCERN for Team India on moving forward, both Bowler's & Batters are equally unavailable for many series in the past, inconsistency in Combination. Lot more issues. Who will take the responsibility & solve it. I Wonder
