The second edition of the Road Safety World Series is set to get underway from September 10 at Kanpur. While Raipur will host the semi-finals and the final of the edition, Indore and Dehradun are the other two venues that’ll host the matches. With just nine days to go for the event to start, it has now been revealed that the former Indian great Sachin Tendulkar will lead the defending champions, Indian Legends.
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Information & Technology and Youth Affairs & Sports Government of India collaborated together to bring the Road Safety Series. In addition to the existing teams, New Zealand Legends will be the new team who’ll make a mark. With fans already thrilled to watch some of their vintage stars perform, the series will bring great awareness about road safety.
Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji, the honourable minister of the Road Transport and Highways Ministry opined that the series was most wanted and wished the teams well.
“The Road Safety World Series is a very good initiative to create awareness towards road safety through cricket. We want every individual in this country to be aware and obey every rules and regulations while on the road and for that to happen, we have to create awareness among the people, I strongly believe that this series will be able to do and achieve the goal of saving lives on Indian roads,” Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji said.
The league just got bigger with the inclusion of New Zealand Legends: Rohan Lavsi, Business Head, Viacom18
The business head of Viacom18, the official broadcasting partner, Rohan Lavsi said that the inclusion of New Zealand Legends might help the league. He expressed his desire to bring laudable cricketing action to fans all around the world and in India.

“Superhits and newly launched Sports18 Khel while it will be digitally streaming on VOOT and Jio. We want to ensure that cricket lovers throughout the country can watch the league across multiple platforms like Cable TV, DTH, Free Dish and Digital,” Lavsi was quoted as saying.
