Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant survived a horrific car accident on December 30, 2022, and is currently undergoing a recovery process. Pant was out of competitive cricket after that incident and would take a year or two to make a comeback. The star cricketer recently took to social media to update about his recovery process and wishes were poured in from the cricketing world. Meanwhile, he won hearts with a special gesture for his young fan on his birthday on Monday.
A father of a young boy posted a cute video of his son smashing the ball while batting left-handed on Twitter. The user named Suvajit Mustafi tagged Pant in his tweet and informed that his son Ayan turned 6 today and requested the Indian cricketer to wish his biggest fan.
Mustafi wrote: “Hey @RishabhPant 17, Hope your recovery process is going smooth? My son, Ayan – is your biggest fan. A heart warrior and a fellow left-hander, he aspires to be like you. He has been praying for your recovery since Dec. 30. He turns 6 today. Could you pls wish ‘birthday to him?"
In response, Pant replied, “Happy birthday Ayan. Have a great year.”

'It might take a year or two for Pant's return': Ganguly
Former Indian Cricket Board president Sourav Ganguly told PTI that he had a recent interaction with Rishabh Pant. Ganguly also revealed that the Indian wicket-keeper batter will be back playing for India but it might take a year or two for his return.
“I spoke to him a couple of times. Obviously, he is going through a tough period, through injuries and surgeries and I wish him well. In a year’s time or may be in a couple of years’ time, he will be back playing for India,” the former Indian captain told PTI.
India are currently dealing with Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and Rohit and Co are leading the series but have missed the services of their match-winner Pant. The 25-year-old will also miss the Indian T20 League, which is scheduled to start next month.
