India's star wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is on the verge of recovering after he met a huge injury sustained in a car accident back in December 2022. He is taking small steps towards an international comeback. On December 2022, the batter's car crashed on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, with the wicketkeeper suffering major burns and injuries on his body.

According to reports he has resumed batting in the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and is facing fast bowers too. If the reports are believed to be true then it will be a good sign for the Indian Cricket Team and the fans as well.

Is Rishabh Pant eyeing a World Cup return?

Pant is now facing deliveries at nets with speeds over 140 kph at the NCA Bangalore. The Delhi Capitals captain has no difficulty taking down faster deliveries and is at ease with minor moves. He has been posting updates on his rehab journey on social media, which has been fantastic news for his followers. He has also started to keep wickets with lesser intensity.

Last month, the 25-year-old began participating in throwdowns. An NCA source stated, "Rishabh is in good health. He has started batting at more than 140 kph. We are all delighted with the way he is overcoming every obstacle in his recovery. His next target will be to focus on quick body movements, which we aim to achieve in the next few months."

The medical staffs and trainers are sure that he will make those significant movements over the next several months. Pant's remarkable recovery has astounded everyone, particularly those who work with him daily.

All eyes are on the recoveries of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. Both players have started batting practice in the nets. While neither player is recovered, they are close and will play critical roles for India in the next ODI World Cup in October-November. There have been suggestions that Rahul will be available for the Asia Cup, which will be held in August-September, but this has yet to be confirmed.
