Rinku, who came from poor origins, encountered a severe hurdle early in his career: financial difficulties. He admitted, “My family didn’t support me due to financial issues.” Rinku started playing professional cricket with heavy responsibilities on his shoulders.

He clarified, “I didn’t like that, so I convinced my mother to support me.” His determination, hard-work led him back to the sport that he loved.

In his struggling days, Rinku had to be dropped out of school due to his unstable financial situation, after failing his ninth grade and was never given the chance to finish his education.  He gave up his aspirations of playing cricket and became a sweeper. It was essential to have a stable income but at the expense of his passion and love. His devotion to cricket, though, was unwavering.

In Rinku's path, this was a pivotal moment. He faced many challenges, but his passion for cricket never wavered. His unwavering dedication to cricket finally paid off as he was given a spot on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

He has been a member of the KKR team for six years, which speaks to his reliable performance. He was retained for INR 80 lakh from 2017 to 2021, and then for INR 55 lakh in 2022 and 2023. From 2017 to 2023, he received an astounding INR 4.40 crores in IPL.

Rinku's road to success will continue to inspire future generations of cricketers. His story serves as a reminder that, while the route to success may be difficult, it is surely attainable with effort and desire.
