The biggest event of the year in WWE, the Royal Rumble, is here. There is a huge buzz among the fans as they are guessing for possible names who can make a return back into the WWE fold. There was some talk of Ricky Steamboat making a return to WWE. But as of now, it has been quashed. He said that he would turn down the chance to take part in Royal Rumble again.

Interestingly, the man who has a rich history with WWE has not played in a Royal Rumble match. He turned down a chance to be part of the inaugural Royal Rumble event which took place in 1988. He was not very keen to be part of the high-stakes event.

Steamboat is now no longer an active player in wrestling. He came back to the ring on November 27, 2022, at Big Time Wrestling Return of the Dragon and teamed up with FTR for a six-man tag team match. The man of American and Japanese descent does not want to make a return to the ring again.

He said that although he would have loved to get into Royal Rumble again, he felt that getting back into the platform would have been very burdensome and a huge responsibility for him at the stage of his career that he is in currently.

"Thanks, but no thanks. Yeah (the fans would love it). I think it's too big of a stage for me," Steamboat said in an interaction with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter.

I'm very happy with what I've done- Streamboat

Triple H has worked hard behind the scenes to get the cream of WWE back on board. The Chief Content officer of the company is ready to shake hands and do good work with many of the former stars at WWE. From Steamboat’s angle, he wants to be sure of how streamlined the process will be and want’s a guarantee on his safety at the company.

"I mean, Triple H could say, we're going to take care of you, and all that kind of stuff. I just, to be honest with you, Bill, it's just not in the heart anymore. It's just that I'm very happy with what I've done.".
