KL Rahul, the right-hand opener, is going through one of the toughest phases in his life as the star is yet to play a strong inning in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. After scoring 4 and 9 against Pakistan and Netherlands respectively, the opener failed yet again during the South Africa clash on October 30, Sunday.

Scoring only as many runs as he scored in the Netherlands battle, Rahul made an open invitation for his critics to take a dig at him. As a customary procedure, fans, on the other hand, came up with a meme fest on Twitter, leaving no stone unturned to troll the batter for his inability to get runs under his belt.

The Perth massacre for Rahul and India

However, Rahul’s innings at Perth drew a lot of criticism as the batter did not get off to a mark in the first 7 balls that he faced in the innings. Although the right-handed batter scored a six off the very next ball, much to the disappointment of his fans, Rahul failed yet again as he edged a delivery off Lungi Ngidi.

Concerning India, the team’s captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first, in a move to testify their batting order. However, it backfired as both openers got out for cheap scores, putting India in deep trouble.

Virat Kohli, the Indian giant who helped the Men in Blue clinch an emphatic win against Pakistan and Netherlands, played a few cracking shots and returned to the pavilion for just 12 runs. At the end of 20 overs, India managed to put on 133 runs on the board on the back of a well-crafted 68 from Suryakumar Yadav.

The team India captain said at the toss that they would look to trust the process and treat it as yet another game. “We will bat. It's a good surface, we know what to expect and what to do on this pitch. We had a camp across at the WACA, helped us get used to the bounce for both batters and the bowlers. But this is an important game from where the tournament is, we just have to follow the routine and trust the process, just stay calm and execute the plans,” said Rohit during the toss.

As things stand, let us take a look at a few memes from fans trolling Rahul for yet another failure:
