England's World Cup build-up got off to a dismal start as they suffered a demoralizing eight-wicket defeat to New Zealand in the first One-Day International (ODI). The loss has left the English team with more questions than answers, raising concerns about their preparedness for the upcoming tournament.

The defeat highlighted several areas of concern for England. Their batting lineup, which is considered one of the strongest in world cricket, failed to deliver against a disciplined New Zealand bowling attack. The top order collapsed early on, leaving the middle order exposed and unable to rebuild the innings. This raises doubts about their ability to handle pressure situations in high-stakes matches.

Furthermore, England's bowling attack struggled to make an impact against a determined New Zealand batting lineup. Their inability to take wickets regularly allowed the opposition batsmen to settle in and chase down the target comfortably. This raises questions about England's ability to defend totals and restrict opposition teams from scoring freely.

Fans reacting to this on social media said that New Zealand has totally outplayed England and it will be a strong tone for New Zealand for the World Cup. but few fans from India have said that they will be shattering our dream of winning the World Cup yet again as previously.

Ben Stokes' fifty on one-day international comeback came in vain

Ben Stokes took back his retirement from the One Day Internationals a few days ago, Ben Stokes has replaced Harry Brook in the World Cup Squad for England. After taking back his retirement from the ODIs, Ben Stokes played his first match against New Zealand, in which he made a half-century. Ben Stokes scored a brilliant 52 from 69 balls but he gave up his wicket to New Zealand youngster Ravindra. Later there was not much batting from England who just scored 291. New Zealand Chased down the target with eight wickets in hand.

Even previously Ben Stokes has opted for National duties over franchise cricket, which is a huge inspiration for many youngsters. He has been a crucial part in England winning the World Cup previously and England will be happy with his return to the team.
