Ravindra Jadeja might be injured and off cricket but he has been fully active off the field. The all-rounder had campaigned for his wife Rivaba Jadeja who contested the polls in Gujarat on a Bharatiya Janata Party Ticket. The BJP were declared the winner on December 8 in the Gujarat assembly elections. Jadeja had done aggressive campaigning on his wife’s behalf and even got into trouble when a row concerning Jadeja and the use of the Indian jersey while campaigning came to the fore.
Now Ravindra Jadeja took to social media to share a picture with his wife Rivaba after she won the Jamnagar North constituency for the BJP in the Gujarat assembly elections. Rivaba defeated Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Karshanbhai Karmur by a margin of 53,570 votes.

Rivaba had got 57% of the vote share as compared to the candidate Karmur from the AAP who had got just 23% of the vote share.
Speaking to the media after the win, she said, Those who accepted me happily as a candidate, worked with me, reached out and connected to people- I thank them all. It’s not just my victory but of all of us.” Rivaba had joined the party in 2019, She was fielded as the Jamnagar candidate for the seat this year. Interestingly Jadeja comes from a family who are mostly loyal supporters of the Indian National Congress.

She has said that there is no animosity between the two and that their opinions can differ. “My love for my brother stays the same. My sister-in-law is a BJP candidate as of now. As a sister-in-law she is good,” she had said. “In our family, we have freedom. Our family members can do whatever they want to do. They have the right to do that,” added Naynaba Jadeja.
