Ravindra Jadeja is arguably the greatest All-rounder of current times. The left-arm orthodox spinner is one of the most economical bowlers in recent times. In Test cricket, Jadeja can win matches on his own, In ODIs, Jadeja has shown his capabilities as a good fifth bowler. In T20Is, Jadeja can be a multi-dimensional player for the team.

Having played a lot of cricket, Jadeja has a lot of experience, especially against the West Indies. In 29 matches against the opponent, Jadeja has claimed 41 wickets, at a bowling average of 29.88, a bowling strike rate of 36.7, at an economy of 4.88. 41 wickets claimed by Jadeja is the most for a bowler among active cricketers from India and West Indies.

Among the all-time leading wicket-takers in the India-West Indies matches, Jadeja is third on the list. India’s star all-rounder and former World Cup winner, Kapil Dev, is second on the list with 43 wickets in 42 matches at an average of 28.88, a bowling strike rate of 47.74, at an economy of 3.63. The former West Indies pacer Courtney Walsh leads the chart with 44 wickets in 38 matches at an average of 24.16, a strike rate of 44.70, and an economy of 3.24.

Mohammad Siraj to miss ODIs against West Indies

As Jadeja needs just 3 wickets to equal the record and 4 wickets to surpass the great Courtney Walsh, India has bad news for the ODIs against West Indies. Mohammad Siraj, who has been the best ODI bowler for India since July 2022, is set to miss the ODI series against West Indies due to a sore ankle.

India decided not to risk the bowler before the big tournaments. Siraj is most likely to miss the T20I series against Ireland and will join the Indian team for Asia Cup to be held in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. With Siraj missing the series, India is left with a pace attack of Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat, Mukesh Kumar, and Umran Malik, which might be worrisome.
